Why is nutrition important after a body contouring procedure?
Non-surgical body contouring treatments are an excellent way to get rid of the excess body fat in specific areas and eliminate some fat cells. However, in no way are they able to completely prevent weight gain in the future, as it is the individual’s responsibility to maintain the results achieved with the treatment. This can be the hardest part for a lot of clients, so supporting them throughout their treatments is something we aim to do.
Adults have a fixed amount of fat cells in their body that body contouring treatments aim to eliminate permanently, although, if a patient does not follow a healthy diet and exercise regularly, the remaining fat cells in the body can develop and contribute to weight gain. If clients are not careful they will soon regain the inches they have lost at our clinic & it becomes a vicious, expensive cycle.
We have teamed up with Nutritionalist & personal trainer Megan so that we can help you on your journey & keep you on track while having treatment with us.
Megan is the founder of Mind Over Matter Fitness and Nutrition. She graduated in 2006, from Oxford Brookes University with a 1st class honours in Food Science and Nutrition. She has always had a passion for nutrition, but initial more as a chef, working in a small restaurant for 4 years. She graduated and worked for 6 years in the research field, specialising in Glycaemic Index, Insulinemic Index and Weight Loss studies. Her experiences in research enables her to provide her clients with up-to-date and reliable scientific advice.
