The state of the art skin clinic within our luxurious beauty salon in South Oxfordshire will treat your acne holistically and create the best possible results for your skin.
Acne can be painful, and it can zap your confidence. It’s notoriously hard to treat and you may feel like you’re constantly going backwards and forwards to the doctor for different creams, tablets and other remedies but nothing really works.
Acne is a disease and so to reduce the impact it has on you, we work with your skin to minimise the four key factors of acne: excess oil, increased cell turnover, bacteria, inflammation. We offer a combination of treatments and products to successfully control these symptoms.
We recommend a combination of treatments in clinic and products to use at home to successfully control your acne symptoms.
The combination your practitioner recommends for your treatment plan may change as they monitor your results.
The average number of treatments is initially around six to eight sessions every seven to 14 days to get excellent results. After this, your therapist will discuss a maintenance plan with you which will include good home care products.
Acne scarring is much harder to treat & a combination of treatments should be used.
Micro-needling every 4 weeks with regular chemical peels will help to smooth out the appearance of the skin. We would also recommend a 1% retinol to speed up cell turnover in between treatments.
IPL laser with Radio Frequency will also help to stimulate the fibroblast to produce more collagen & can be used at the same time for best results.
ALUMIER CHEMICAL PEELS
They harness the power of naturally occurring acids and active ingredients to deeply exfoliate and brighten the skin. The treatment stimulates new cell growth and collagen production, helping to reveal fresher, clearer, brighter skin.
The 20/10 Alumier Peel is good for treating acne and reducing large pores. It is also useful for reducing fine lines and wrinkles and skin discolouration.
For treatment of many skin conditions, a course of 3 – 6 peels, spaced 3 – 5 weeks apart, will be recommended. Apart from that, many people enjoy coming in for a monthly peel just to keep their complexion glowing.
Microdermabrasion facial treatment is a recommended solution for fine lines, superficial blemishes and marks, congested skin and mild pigmentary problems.
Microdermabrasion is a progressive procedure. After the first session your skin will feel softer and you may see a very subtle improvement. To gain visible improvement we generally recommend a course of sessions because additional treatments cause an increase in circulation within the dermis and newer, healthier skin cells are produced. It’s one of the simplest and least disruptive skin treatments and is ideal even for people with sensitive skin.
Not recommended on active acne skin as it can spread the bacteria & make the problem worse.
The Zeolight IPL treatment works by reducing the blood supply to the sebaceous glands which produce the sebum causing acne. Reducing the blood supply slows down the production of sebum. Acne is caused by the sebaceous glands becoming blocked with sebum, which attracts bacteria, producing the spots and cysts that are common to acne sufferers.
You can use this lovely, relaxing treatment on its own as a little treat or you can make it an add on to a facial. Some people also like to book in for an LED Light Therapy session after they’ve had another treatment, like a chemical peel or skin needling where they have a bit of redness post-treatment. The blue light helps kill off any bacteria on the skin & reduce inflammation also helping take down the redness with rosacea.

What causes acne?
There are many things that can be causing your acne.
Bad skin is usually an indication that your acid mantel (barrier on your skin) is not working properly & is the wrong PH. This can cause bacteria to get in, causing inflammation & pimples.
This can be from a poor skin routine or poor hygiene.
Usually a course of Alumier chemical peels & a couple of home care products will help to restore the skins barrier, improving your skin.
How many treatments will I need?
As with any skin problems a course would be recommend.
