Swedish Massage

Relax into a Swedish massage – melt into a stress-busting massage treatment that will help reduce your stress levels and much more…

fleuron

This is one of our most popular massage treatments, and it’s great for anyone who hasn’t had a massage before. Swedish massage is ideal for getting rid of tension and knots in your muscles, releasing stress and generally relaxing you. One session of Swedish massage is great, but a regular massage appointment can reap so many benefits for your health and wellbeing.

Our therapist will use specially designed massage techniques that include long, sweeping strokes and firm pressure to help release any stress, leaving you feeling relaxed and rejuvenated. Deeper pressure is used on any areas that you feel need extra ‘work’ so that any knots in your muscles and tissues are released and you can walk out of our beauty salon in West Hagbourne with an added spring in your step!

What happens in a Swedish Massage

After a consultation with our massage therapist, we’ll leave you to take off your clothes (down to your underwear). Don’t worry if you’re a little shy; we also give you towels to cover the areas that aren’t being worked on.

Swedish massage uses a variety of different techniques, including rubbing, kneading and tapping. A session usually begins on your back, the backs of your arms and your legs, then you turn over so that the therapist can work on your shoulders, arms, and thighs.

A Swedish massage is relaxing and enjoyable, and it’s not too deep, but don’t be afraid to ask for more or less pressure, as everybody is different.

What is Swedish Massage good for?

Swedish Massage helps decrease anxiety and stress, and gives you a feeling of wellbeing. It’s been found to help people deal with chronic pain (like arthritis or fibromyalgia) and can help to boost a sluggish circulation. The different techniques used in the session really get your blood moving, so if you get frequent cramps, a Swedish Massage can help with those too.

It’s a very safe and gentle type of massage that suits just about everyone. If you’re pregnant, please let us know when you book.
